Hello @Eugene,
For question 1), the component actions (start/stop/restart) need to be configured in the API host panel. To configure actions, please go to the API panel on hosts with the Bacula components (Storage Daemon or File Daemon). In the API panel you need to go to Page:Settings => Tab:Actions and there you can configure the component actions. Once it is done the start/stop/restart action buttons will start working on the web interface.
For question 2), I am not sure but for me it looks like an incompatibility on the protocol level. If it is this case, then you need to make sure that the Director and Storage Daemon are in the same version. The File Daemon version can be the same or lower than Director/Storage version. The version relation is the following:
(DIR == SD) >= FD
For the question about installing the Storage Daemon on remote host, it can be done:
- manually - install Bacula SD on remote host, install Bacularis API, join the API to Bacularis Web
- automatically - deploy API host to remote server using the Bacularis deployment function. After that you will be able to install/update/remove Bacula SD on that host directly from the Bacularis web interface.
In both cases you will be able to manage the SD configuration on the Bacularis web interface.
Best regards,
