Welcome to the Bacularis User Group.

Could you tell us what you exectly did in Bacularis? I mean when exactly this error occured?

Generally this error happens because Bacularis web interface is trying to connect to the Bacularis API on localhost:9097 but on localhost:9097 it does not find the Bacularis API. This is this error Connection refused.

Are you using any proxy between Bacularis web interface and Bacularis API? Are they on two different hosts?

Hello @saksham,

In most cases Bacularis provides both the web interface and API. So, if you have the web interface, then you also have the Bacularis API.

In case of your error, we need to know what you already have installed and what you did before this error happened.

Still facing the issue
While doing installation it gives install catalog error in step 1 of configuration

OK. So, if I understand you well, you are trying to install Bacula via the Bacularis initial wizard and you are receiving an error on the Install catalog stage.

To know what is going we need more details. The most important details are the following:

what is your operating system on which you install Bacula
what error message are you seeing in the installation window on the Raw output tab

i am instlling in ubuntu22.04 jammy snd i also tryed on alma9 where i get the api not install error.
so can you please provide me the step by step installtion doc

On Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy the Bacula system packages are not available in Ubuntu repositories. The Ubuntu 22.04 is the Ubuntu version where you need to add additional Ubuntu repositories to be able install Bacula at all. Please follow on this Troubleshooting section of the Bacularis documentation:

For AlmaLinux 9, as I mentioned above, this error means that Bacularis is not available on localhost:9097. Please check on the web interface:

[Main menu] => [Page: Security] => [Tab: API hosts] => [Table: Host 'Main' in the table] => [Button: Edit] => [Button: Test]

You need check carefully the connection parameters in this window and adapt them to your Bacularis installation.

now i have install this in my main server now i want to take back up of client server (ubuntu jammy 22.04) so can you please provide me the client backup steps

That's great! So, you already have the Bacula Server and Bacualris installed.

To add new clients you can follow on these two chapters:

Add Linux client

And once the client is added, please follow on this chapter:
